We have entered another season of 2020. Fall in the Northern Hemisphere began on September 22 and ends on December 21. This season “FALL” is known for some very important things.
First, what is a season? A season can be described as an active period, time, time of year, term, phase, or stage. Each season is marked with significance. We associate holidays with season. With each season comes “CHANGE.”
In the autumn or fall season temperatures (change) cool again. Our lawns (change) begin to take on a different appearance. The animal life (change) has an inner instinct to cause them to prepare for the cooling of temperatures. They will even begin to store food or move (change) to another location. The Christian values this season as “THE HARVEST SEASON.” That is why we celebrate Thanksgiving. According to dictionary.com, “Thanksgiving is the act of giving thanks; grateful acknowledgment of benefits or favors, especially to God. An expression of thanks, a public celebration in acknowledgment of divine favor or kindness. A day set apart for giving thanks to God.” Just as the seasons change, our change must be INTENTIONAL! I refuse to remain in my present mindset.
As we associate words with seasons: winter-cold, spring-life, summer-heat, fall/autumn-cooling, colorful and thanksgiving, let us be reminded that seasons CHANGE. The season that we have been marching through presently in 2020 may have brought you much pain, stress, sorrow, heartbreak, confusion and hurt, but that season will not last forever. I must INTENTIONALLY be thankful to God and give HIM the sacrifice of praise.
Psalm 30:1–5 (1) I will extol thee, O Lord; for thou hast lifted me up, And hast not made my foes to rejoice over me. (2) O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me. (3) OLord, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: Thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. (4) Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of his, And give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. (5) For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
I thank God for every soul that has been brought into the Kingdom through the Church of God Ministry in Mississippi. It has been a different year to say the least, but, HARVEST continued. Here are a few of the stats that have taken place this year.
Salvations | Restorations | Sanctified | Holy Ghost | Water Baptism |
1,684 | 956 | 370 | 358 | 177 |
We are in our final 30 days of PRAY 100 MISSISSIPPI. We are hearing great reports from across the state. During this past 7 months, we have had a wonderful opportunity to have serious times with God. I encourage each of you to continue to pray for a National and International Harvest. The Lord is coming for a victorious Church! Let’s be that church.
We were able to organize a new Church of God during this season. Walls Down Church of God under the direction of Pastor Patricia Easley was officially organized on September 20, 2020 with 31 members. The Church of God of Mississippi salutes Pastor Easley for her hard work and dedication to the Church of God and the Kingdom of God. She has been faithful and her congregation is a testimony to her leadership. Thank you Pastor Patricia Easley and Walls Down Church of God.
